Masterson’s Pub , located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , advertises itself as a stylish, alternative venue , but my unfortunate encounter at this establishment turned into one of the worst experiences of my life . While the bar may present a friendly façade, what I discovered behind its walls was shocking and unacceptable on multiple levels .

From the moment I stepped inside , it was evident that cleanliness was not a priority at this venue. The surfaces were tacky , and a nauseating aroma of old alcohol and filthy restrooms suffused the entire bar . Emitting a scent of a mixture of urine , a rotting odor and a sickly smell. The restroom was in even a truly awful state—overflowing , with a shattered handle and walls stained in what I can only assume was feces.

Many customers have reported spotting critters darting across the serving surface and traces of mice in the basement .
